Knoxville, Tenn. - Whether your float plan calls for fishing, diving or just a relaxing day spent on the water, this Sea Ray has what it takes and then some. The 270 Amberjack features a 100-gallon fuel capacity and a very capable deep V-hull, making it perfect for your offshore pursuits. Plus this multitalented craft offers all the amenities of a luxury express cruiser and an optional fishing package that's sure to please even the most avid angler.
A full complement of custom SmartCraft® instruments comes standard at the 270 Amberjack's ergonomically designed helm, which also boasts power-assisted steering and a handsome tilt wheel with black spokes and polished centerpiece. Optional Raymarine® electronics with full-color displays are available for the captain who likes to stay dialed-in no matter where his or her course leads.
The standard engine is a brawny 320-hp MX6.2 MPI Bravo® III Digital Throttle and Shift, but you can power up to a 375-hp Magnum® Bravo® III DTS or try the smooth-running 298-hp Volvo D6-310 DP diesel. Do most of your boating in saltwater? For the ultimate in corrosion-resistance, the gas engines can be upgraded with Mercury's new SeaCore engine and drives.
There's plenty of room for family, friends, and all their boating gear and water toys, thanks to an over-size in-floor storage compartment. Cockpit amenities include a back-to-back adjustable lounger to port and a bucket-style helm seat with swivel, slider, flip-up thigh-rise bolster and rotocast shell. There's a foldaway aft-bench seat as well - ideal for fishing trips - plus plenty of storage including an insulated transom fishbox with acrylic lid.
Want to really impress your angling buddies? The fishing package ups the ante with an aluminum arch with rocket launchers, a bait-prep station with recirculating live baitwell system, carry-on cooler with storage, seawater washdown and four extra rod holders.
Below deck, the 270 Amberjack features a convenient galley with refrigerator, microwave and easy-to-clean Corian® countertop with sink, faucet and cover. You'll feel right at home in the roomy V-berth dining area with its solid-wood table and attractively upholstered seating. Add the specially designed filler cushions and the space converts to a comfortable bed. Additional features include a standard mid-berth with berth, and a full-size head and shower compartment with vanity, mirror and VacuFlush® toilet.
New for 2008, the 270 Sundancer also comes with a new stainless-steel framed, tempered glass windshield with a walk-thru for access to the foredeck. You get a Sunbrella® bimini top, front and side curtains, and canvas storage bag. First-class options like a Sirius satellite receiver and colored hull add even more in the way of custom class and good looks.
A full membership in the Sea Ray Owners Club, which provides a variety of privileges like discounts on insurance and invitations to members-only events, is also standard. Clearly, the 270 Amberjack is no bare-bones fishing boat, it's all you need to properly enjoy a day of fishing, diving or all-around family fun.
