Yacht Brite is the official polish and cleaning partner of Sea Ray, and Yacht Brite President Laura Jahnz was the expert-in-residence at this December's Sea Ray Yacht Expo in Merritt Island, Florida. Below are a few of the top questions Sea Ray owners asked during Yacht Brite's classes and demos at the event, along with some valuable advice to keep your boat looking shiny and new:
How do I protect my Sea Ray's finish?
On all smooth fiberglass surfaces, use Yacht Brite's Pro Polish. Pro Polish has polymers that will form a longer, stronger bond with fiberglass. It is best to polish the hull twice a season, and the topside every six weeks.
What is the best product for cleaning and protecting my isenglass?
Isenglass MUST be kept protected. The best product for this is Yacht Brite's Serious Shine. Serious Shine has the necessary conditioners and UV protectors to keep isinglass well maintained.
How do cold and hot weather affect my Sea Ray's finish differently?
Cold and heat have little to no effect on the finish. What do have a great effect, however, are rises in UV levels, industrial fallout, acid rain and using harsh chemicals to clean the finish.
In colder climates, how early do you suggest taking boats out of storage?
Boats have been launched in colder climates as early as the first of March. The primary concern is ice in the waterways, which can destroy the finish. Once the ice is gone, let the launching begin!
