Sea Ray® Honored with Top Marine Manufacturer Award for Third Consecutive Year During 2021 National Boating Industry Safety Awards

Published on December 14, 2021

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (December 14, 2021) – For the third consecutive year, Sea Ray has been recognized for its outstanding efforts promoting boating safety. During the 2021 National Boating Industry Safety Awards, Sea Ray was presented with the Top Marine Manufacturer Award for its engaging Summer Safe Boating Tips campaign showcasing pro tips from celebrity influencer Captain Sandy Yawn from Bravo’s “Below Deck Mediterranean.”

Kicking off during National Safe Boating Week, Sea Ray’s Summer Safe Boating Tips campaign encouraged responsible boating and water safety, covering topics including sober boating, proper radio communication and float plans. Throughout the summer, a series of short videos featuring Captain Sandy sharing tips aboard a Sea Ray boat were distributed through Sea Ray’s social channels, blogs and emails, resulting in a wide reach and high engagement.

“Winning this top category for three straight years is a tremendous reflection of Sea Ray’s long-term commitment to boating safety and its concern for the overall well-being of boaters,” said Gail R. Kulp, Sea Tow Foundation executive director. “Their application this year revealed a strong emphasis on video messaging incorporating celebrity endorsements over a broad spectrum of safety topics, coupled with an overall integrated marketing campaign that ran on multiple marketing channels.”

Announced on Wednesday, December 8, during the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas national Dealer Week in Austin, TX, the 2021 National Boating Industry Safety Awards were organized by the Sea Tow Foundation Boating Safety Advisory Council to celebrate the top for-profit recreational boating industry companies for their efforts promoting safety initiatives.

To be eligible for a National Boating Industry Safety Award, each organization must have demonstrated a commitment to boating safety through programs and campaigns completed within the United States, August 1, 2020–August 1, 2021, in one of 10 segments of the recreational marine marketplace.
